ufc-111-saunders-gator-com

It appears that the popular web hosting company Hostgator has acquired the generic domain name gator.com some time in March. Looking at a whois lookup the domain was previously parked and the domains registration was updated on March 10th, 2010. The term ‘gator’ is used in the domain/business name of several other websites most notably is FranchiseGator.com.

Hostgator sponsored the shorts of Ben Saunders (pictured) with the domain during UFC 111 which took place on March 27th, 2010 in Newark, New Jersey.

*I do not have any details about how the domain was acquired, nor when it exactly happened.
